MORE CONTEXT. MORE RELEVANT INTRODUCTIONS.

How FindMyPerson works

Tell us who you are, what matters to you and who you would genuinely like to meet. FindMyPerson then narrows the field before ranking the compatible profiles that remain.

STEP BY STEP

From profile to conversation

FindMyPerson is designed to reduce irrelevant profiles rather than give you an endless stream of people who fall outside what you are actually looking for.

1

Create a detailed profile

Tell us about your interests, lifestyle, personality, relationship intentions, family circumstances, ideal weekend and what matters to you in a partner. Thin profiles give us less useful information to match with.

2

Set your requirements

Choose the age and geographic ranges you are comfortable with, together with your relationship preferences. These are eligibility filters, not suggestions.

3

Share to see

Profile information is reciprocal. If you have not completed a category, you will not see that category on potential matches. The more meaningful information you share, the more meaningful information you can see.

4

Choose how photos work

Every member uploads four photographs for approval. Once approved, you can use normal photo visibility or choose Blind Date Mode.

5

Build the compatibility picture

Matching goes beyond age and distance by considering relationship preferences, interests, lifestyle and personality information. Members who value astrology can also include astrology compatibility.

6

See mutually eligible matches

Profiles only enter your results when the age and geographic requirements work in both directions. Qualifying profiles are then sorted from highest match strength to lowest.

7

Read first. Then decide.

See the profile information you have also chosen to provide, consider the compatibility context available to you, and then decide whether you would like to start a conversation.

MUTUAL REQUIREMENTS

If you don't fit each other's range, you don't see each other.

If you set an age range of 40–50 and a geographic range around Auckland, profiles outside those requirements will not appear in your results.

But it also works the other way. Even if another member fits your settings, you will not see them unless you also fit their age and geographic requirements.

This is intentional. It means the profiles you see have already passed the basic mutual requirements before compatibility ranking begins.

MEMBER-ONLY PROFILE VISIBILITY

Your dating profile is for the FindMyPerson member community.

Your FindMyPerson dating profile is designed to be viewed inside the signed-in member experience rather than published as a public dating profile page for anyone on the open web to browse.

This helps keep personal dating information within the community while still allowing the information you choose to share to be used for matching and shown to eligible members under FindMyPerson's reciprocal visibility rules.

Public site pages and member dating profiles are different. General FindMyPerson pages can be visible publicly, while member profile content is intended for signed-in members.

RECIPROCAL BY DESIGN

The more you share, the more you see.

FindMyPerson is not designed for people to create an almost-empty profile and then browse detailed information about everyone else. Access to profile information works both ways.

Interests

Share your interests → see theirs. If you do not select interests, other members' interests remain hidden from you.

Lifestyle

Complete lifestyle information → see theirs. Leaving the relevant lifestyle section incomplete means the corresponding information on potential matches stays hidden.

Personality

Tell us about your personality → see theirs. Personality information becomes useful when both people are prepared to contribute meaningful answers.

Photos

Photos are reciprocal too. In Blind Date Mode you do not show your photos and you do not see anyone else's photos.

Why we're doing this

Thin profiles are difficult to match accurately and do not give other members much to respond to. Reciprocal visibility encourages everyone to contribute useful information instead of simply browsing. It also makes a more complete profile genuinely valuable: better information gives FindMyPerson more context for compatibility and gives you more context about the people you may meet.

Basic eligibility still works in the background. Information required to establish mutual age, geographic and relationship eligibility can still be used by the matching system even when individual profile fields are not displayed as reciprocal content.

PHOTOS HIDDEN

You can't see theirs.
They can't see yours.

BLIND DATE MODE

Put the person before the photograph.

Blind Date Mode is for members who would rather begin with personality, lifestyle, interests and compatibility instead of photographs.

When you use Blind Date Mode, your profile photos are not shown to other members and you cannot see their profile photos either. It is deliberately reciprocal.

You can still read the profile and use the compatibility information available to you. This gives people another way to discover a potential connection without appearance being the first filter.

PHOTO APPROVAL

Four photos are required before normal photo visibility.

Every member must upload four photos. Your main profile photograph must clearly show your face, and all four photographs must be approved by FindMyPerson administration before they can go live.

Until the required photographs have been approved, your account remains in Blind Date Mode. That means your unapproved photos are not displayed and you will not see other members' photos.

Photo approval is designed to support genuine profiles and consistent standards. Approval does not amount to identity verification or a guarantee about a member's identity or conduct.

COMPATIBILITY WITH CONTEXT

More than one way to be compatible

No single score can tell you whether a relationship will work. FindMyPerson instead uses the information members provide to help organise potentially relevant introductions.

Relationship fit

Relationship intentions, preferences and the type of connection each person is looking for.

Interests & spare time

The things you enjoy doing and how your everyday lives might fit together.

Lifestyle & circumstances

Useful context about lifestyle, family circumstances and the way you prefer to live.

Personality

Personality and relationship-style information helps provide richer context than a photograph or swipe.

Partner preferences

The qualities and relationship characteristics members say matter to them.

Astrology compatibility

For members who consider astrology important, astrology matching can add another compatibility signal. It is an optional preference, not a claim that astrology predicts relationship success.

RELEVANCE BEFORE VOLUME

Your strongest available matches appear first.

After the mutual age and geographic requirements have been applied, compatible profiles are ordered from the highest match strength to the lowest based on the matching information available. A more complete profile gives the system more useful information to work with.

That can mean you see fewer people than you might on an app built around endless browsing. Particularly while FindMyPerson is new, there may be times when only a small number of members meet both people's requirements.

Don't widen your requirements just to create a bigger list.New members will continue joining. A smaller set of genuinely relevant profiles is more useful than hundreds of people who were never suitable in the first place.
